Self Help Graphics & Art started with a small group of artists working out of a garage in
East Los Angeles in the early 1970's, dedicated to creating art that reflected
the cultural values and spirit of the local Chicano community.

SHG seeks to advance Latino art broadly through programming, exhibitions and outreach to diverse audiences in East Los Angeles and beyond. In that time, Self Help Graphics & Art has earned national acclaim for its programs and services, which promote the contribution of Chicano/Latino art and culture to the American landscape.
