He pays homage to the everyman and woman in his multi-level and subtly political work. A longtime resident of Los Angeles, Lozano was born and raised in Juarez, Mexico. This cross-cultural synergy of the border experience infuses his work with a dramatic charm and a flair for magical depiction of a myriad of characters that are many times only slightly different one from the other. ?ose Lozano has a Masters of Fine Arts Degree from Cal State Fullerton. He received the California Arts Council Grant for Drawing and Painting Award in 1996 and was awarded 1st Place in the 1989 Laguna Art Festival in the City of Newport. |
