Our annual Holiday Marketplace returns on Saturday, December 11 from 12:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. with some of LA’s finest cultural artists and artisans, specializing in unique artworks and handcrafted goods that make the perfect gifts for the holidays! Come eat, shop and be merry!

While you’re here for the marketplace, bring the kids and participate in our free Family Workshop! Artist Cynthia Navarro will lead a lotería card making workshop (minors must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the workshop.)

Self Help Graphics and Art is proud to present The Shell in the Clouds (El caparazón de las nubes), Pavel Acevedo's culminating exhibition opening on Friday, December 10 from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. In his exhibition, Pavel invites audiences into an environment filled with images exploring migration and adaptation conveyed through mythical Zapotec stories shared by the artist's elders. The exhibition will be open to the public December 10, 2021 - Feb. 19, 2022.

As the inaugural resident artist for SHG's Beyond the Press, Pavel began his residency in early 2020, which came to a sudden halt due to the pandemic in March of that year. However, this pause did not conclude his residency or deter his creativity or engagement with the Boyle Heights community.

Know Before You Visit SHG

All pre-registered on-site visitors must wear masks, including vaccinated guests.

Effective November 8, 2021, in accordance with the City of Los Angeles municipal code, Self Help Graphics will need to verify proof of vaccination for people visiting the site 12 years of age or older, or a negative covid test taken within 72 hours of being on-site. All people 18 years of age and older will have to show identification as well.

Thank you for working with us to ensure the health and safety of all visitors and that we're in compliance with the City of Los Angeles ordinance. People who do not show either proof of vaccination or a negative covid test will unfortunately be turned away.
