Beginning in April, our Family Workshops will take place on second Saturdays of the month at the East Los Angeles County Library, inside the Community Room.

On Saturday, April 8, at 1:00 p.m., we welcome Teaching Artist Moni Perez, who’ll lead a Gelli Plate Printing workshop at the East Los Angeles County Library. Participants will gain an understanding of how to use gel plates for image transfers, to create their own unique artworks. Using acrylic paint, gel plates, organic textures and a magazine cut out, participants will learn the steps of rolling paint onto a gel plate, placing the magazine image on the plate, removing, and then printing! 

This workshop is open to all ages and no prior experience is necessary. All materials will be provided to participants. Masks are encouraged, but optional, for workshop participants.

The East Los Angeles County Library is located at 4837 E 3rd St Los Angeles, CA 90022, directly across from the Metro L Line East LA Civic Center Station; located at the intersection of 3rd Street and Mednik Avenue.

Our Wellness Wednesday evenings of mindfulness and self-care will take place on third Wednesdays of the month at Latinx with Plants in Boyle Heights.

On Wednesday, April 19, from 6:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m., we welcome Healer, Neil Belen who’ll lead a Sound Bath at Latinx with Plants. A Sound Bath is an auditory meditation using crystal singing bowls, gongs and other instruments to guide you into a meditative state. You'll leave feeling peaceful and rested! Tip: Bring your own mat to sit or lay on our floor for the duration of the experience or borrow one of our mats (while supplies last). If you cannot get on the mat, join us as you are (pull up a nearby chair)!

This workshop is recommended for ages 15+ and no prior experience is necessary. Space is limited, registration is required. All materials will be provided to participants. Masks are encouraged, but optional, for workshop participants.

Latinx with Plants is located at 2208 Cesar Chavez Ave. Los Angeles, CA 90033, between Cornwell St. and N. Chicago St. When visiting use the paid parking lot on Chicago St., metered parking or free non-permit neighborhood parking.
