Self Help Graphics & Art is proud to present Sueños Real, Kalli Arte’s Beyond the Press culminating exhibition opening on Saturday, July 23, from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Calli or Kalli (home in Nahuatl) is central to the collective's art practice and the focal point of the exhibition. 

Paying homage to the cultural ecosystem that is Boyle Heights, the exhibition will be grounded by a symbolic installation of the artists’ home. This central sculpture will connect like roots and branches, to various images of elements, people, and iconographies that are core to their creative practice and family unit.  Learn more about their Beyond the Press residency here.

Create with artists, gardeners, activists, chefs, and scientists as we grow our relationship with soil in this series of hands-on bilingual workshops. These workshops support the Prospering Backyards community science project taking on the lead contamination crisis in Los Angeles. Soil is Life!

Join us for a Summer Youth Night to celebrate the newest mural created in collaboration by our Youth Committee and NSRGNTS. Learn basic printmaking using a stencil or photo process in our DIY Silkscreen Workshop ($30) on Saturday, July 16 from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. with Master Printer, Dewey Tafoya!

In this class, participants will learn to transfer their designs or photos onto a screen. Prepared screens can be used to print on a variety of surfaces including paper, textiles and clothing.
