Frame Monster will be available to answer questions about best framing practices; printers Victor Rosas and Ernesto Vazquez will discuss the relief and silkscreen printmaking process. It’s a must see solo show, dreamt up and curated by our Beyond the Press artists in residence, Adriana Carranza and Alfonso Aceves of Kalli Arte collective! Calli or Kalli (home in Nahuatl) is central to the collective's art practice and the focal point of the exhibition that will remain on view through September 23.

After a brief break, our Family Workshop for all ages is back on Saturday, September 10 at 1:00 p.m. with a free Stencil Screen Printing workshop! Kalli Arte is celebrating the publication of their first exhibition catalogue, Sueños Real, on Thursday, September 15 from 6:00 p.m.-8:30 p.m. during their monthly Open Studio (4:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.). The free evening will include an artist-led guided tour of Sueños Real (beginning promptly at 7:00 p.m.), followed by the signing of their exhibition catalogue. Learn about their influences, challenges, and successes in making their solo exhibition dream a reality.

As part of their Open Studio, visitors will get an exclusive look into their creative process and current projects. Participants are encouraged to ask questions and watch them in action in order to learn more about their work. Register here.

Learn basic printmaking using a stencil or photo process in our DIY Silkscreen Workshop ($30) on Saturday, September 17 from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. with Teaching Artist, Ernesto Vazquez.

In this class, participants will learn to transfer their designs or photos onto a screen. Prepared screens can be used to print on a variety of surfaces including paper, textiles and clothing. Hurry, space is limited– this workshop will sell out! This workshop is recommended for ages 12+. (Minors must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the workshop.) Register here.

In this bilingual Wellness Wednesday workshop, learn to create gemstones, geodes, and crystals out of clay in partnership with Radiclay ceramic artist Annette Zaragoza-Cerritos on September 21 from 6:00 p.m.- 7:30 p.m. 

Invent special “powers” for your precious stones, setting the intention of how they will help make our world a better place. Participants will learn the basics of ceramics while experimenting with the newest techniques in a free form style, where you make the rules! All ages welcome. Register here.
