Self Help Graphics and Art is proud to present The Shell in the Clouds (El caparazón de las nubes), Pavel Acevedo's culminating exhibition opening this Friday, December 10 from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. In his exhibition, Pavel invites audiences into an environment filled with images exploring migration and adaptation conveyed through mythical Zapotec stories shared by the artist's elders. The exhibition will be open to the public December 10, 2021 - Feb. 19, 2022. Masks are required for all visitors, including vaccinated guests.

Did you know that our Self Help Graphics & Art Youth Committee and Youth Artivism Internship programs help us to support grassroots advocacy in our community? Participants receive monthly training on civic engagement, how to lead programming, artivism, and vital issues of interest, such as affordable housing, renters rights and LA’s first Youth Development Department. Participants are trained and mentored by artists, civic leaders, and community-based organizations in these unique opportunities that bridge art, social justice and professional development.

Help us foster programs such as our Youth Committee and Youth Artivism initiatives, impacting high school and transitional aged youth, now through December 31 by making a one-time or recurring tax-deductible donation. Here’s how:

Wellness Wednesday
December 15 6:30PM

Participate in our final Wellness Wednesday program of the year on December 15 at 6:30 p.m., as we come together for 🧘🏾 yoga, led by Instructor Isa Urdiales Guzmán. Please bring your own mat or towel to use for the duration of the hour class. This session is free and recommended for ages 15+.
