This huipil (woven blouse) is a woven story about the determination and resilience of Central American migrants who traverse 1,000s of miles in the hope of creating a better life for themselves, their families, and their children. As asylum seekers weave new stories of hope, they also deal with the crazy realities of violence, imperialism, and colonialism. This huipil honors the children and families that risk everything for a better future. Itis a woven story of resilience, determination, and freedom.

Perro Mundo

Perro Mundo is a portfolio composed of 20 prints created by various artists associated with 12 print studios, Talleres, from across the country. The portfolio’s theme, Perro Mundo, called artists to address the political, social, cultural, environmental, and economic issues affecting the nation. Individual works addressed the themes of politics, firearms, war, unprecedented circumstances, immigration, trauma, homelessness, and mental health. The Perro Mundo/Raw World portfolio was organized by the Consejo Gráfico Nacional in 2020, of which Self Help Graphics is a proud member.
