Eastside LEADS Hosts 2019 Strategic Planning Retreat at SHG

SHG recently opened its doors February 7-8, 2019 to Eastside LEADS' 2019 “Forward Stance Planning Session” to support its anti-displacement advocacy work in the community. The group consisted of core organizational members of Boyle Heights Building Healthy Communities (BH BHC) coalition, , including SHG representatives, and community resident stakeholders.

The purpose of this strategic planning session was to vision forward the fight against displacement and gentrification collaboratively anchored in the vision of community building. This two-day long retreat reaffirmed the purpose and vision of Eastside LEADS, which is investment without displacement. Eastside LEADS is a coalition of residents and local community organizations working together to create an inclusive community engagement process that demands equitable and accountable development policies for Eastside communities without displacement.SHG is an active member of both BHBHC and Eastside LEADS.
