Family Workshops at the Library: Stencil Screen Printing

Join us for our monthly Family Workshop at the East Los Angeles County Library. We welcome Teaching Artist Oscar Rodriguez, who will lead a Stencil Screen Printing workshop. Participants will learn how to create a handmade stencil and have it printed on a 11x17 poster with vibrant ink. Come and create fun designs and a one-of-a-kind poster to take home!

ABOUT FAMILY WORKSHOPS AT THE LIBRARY:

Self Help Graphics & Art’s monthly free Family Workshops are held at the East Los Angeles Library every second Saturday of the month in the Community Room. Limited public parking is available. The East Los Angeles County Library is located at 4837 E 3rd St, Los Angeles, CA 90022, directly across from the Metro L Line East LA Civic Center Station, at the intersection of 3rd Street and Mednik Avenue.

Día de los Muertos Community Art Workshop #1

Join us for the first workshop in our annual Día de los Muertos Community Art Workshop Series on Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 12-3 PM!

Guided by SHG teaching artists, participants will explore Día de los Muertos traditional crafts, including papel picado, paper flowers, and calaca and marigold magnets! Connect with the cultural practices of this beloved celebration while creating artworks to honor ancestors and loved ones.

All materials provided.

Self Help Graphics & Art’s 52nd Annual Día de los Muertos Celebration

Self Help Graphics is proud to present our 52nd Annual Día de los Muertos Celebration in partnership with the Office of Los Angeles County Board Supervisor Hilda L. Solis on Saturday, November 1, 2025 from 3 PM-8 PM at LA County Civic Center Park. The park is located at the East LA Civic Center, at 4801 E 3rd St, Los Angeles, CA 90022 (on the same campus of the East LA County Library). 

Our annual celebration, one of the nation’s longest standing Día de los Muertos public commemorations in the country, will feature: A danza blessing to honor our ancestors and welcome you to the celebration, community altars by local community members and organizations, live entertainment, a Muertos Market with handmade art and goods by local artists and artisans, Self Help Graphics serigraph prints for sale, local street food vendors, face painting, art activities y más!

Our Annual Día de los Muertos season and celebration is a family-friendly affair. Always FREE and open to ALL AGES.
