PAPER FASHION GALA & RUNWAY SHOW
MAY 3, 2019
ABOUT THE EVENING
Self Help Graphics & Art (SHG) is celebrating 46 years of nurturing innovation and creativity in our printmaking community with a Paper Fashion Gala & Runway Show Friday, May 3, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. at SHG. This year we are excited to revive our paper fashion runway show and to highlight art through new wearable paper fashion designs. Artists representative of SHG’s history, including legacy, mid-career and burgeoning artists will bring to life wearable paper fashions inspired by actual prints published by our network of artists from our Professional Printmaking Program spanning over four decades! Enjoy the runway show, peruse through the gallery of art and special items on view for sale, sip, eat light bites and groove to the music of KCRW DJ, José Galván. There will be a printed program featuring an essay by renown artist and writer Marisela Norte. This is a not-to-be-missed event. Tickets will be released to the public by March 15, 2019— look out for GA early bird pricing! (Scroll down for tiered ticket links.)
Euphora International Creative Director and legendary Celebrity Stylist/co-Owner of Ramos Carreon Salon, Philip Carreon, will lead his team of skilled hair stylists from the salon to produce runway hair looks, with art direction provided by each Paper Fashion Runway Artist. Philip will also showcase his own line of wearable paper art wigs that will be available for purchase in support of SHG the night of the show.
Be sure to follow SHG on social media or join the mailing list on our home page for Paper Fashion Gala and Runway Show updates.
