WOMXN WARRIORS: Honoring the 50th Anniversary of the Walkouts & Intergenerational Organizing. 

A project and program in collaboration with Mujeres de Maiz, Self Help Graphics & Art, Innercity Struggle, and The California Endowment. 

Join us for a special Mujeres de Maiz (MdM) Live Art Show & Exhibition honoring 21 Years of MdM & Honoring Womxn Warriors - then and now. An Interdisciplinary, Intercultural, Intergenerational Art Festival and Exhibition Opening Reception including performances by Entre Mujeres: Translocal Musical DialoguesMedusa The Gangsta Goddess, Thurderbirds Raised Her and more!

The Art exhibition features womxn of color that are honoring the 50th Anniversary of the Walkouts focusing on their contributions and intergenerational organizing. The exhibition includes archival material, work by walkout participants, and new work inspired by the movement.

Exhibition runs from March 17th to May 30th during regular hours and on special events.

Featuring women featured in the new book about inspiring, revolutionary and activist women by Claudia Hernandez. 

Ethnic Studies: 50 Years later, Reflections from the Field

“Walkout” Movie Screening & Conversation
Wednesday April 18th, 6:30pm
with Paula and Marisol Crisostomo - mother / daughter intergenerational talk of those featured in the film.

Radical Self Care in these Trying Times
Thursday, May 3rd, 7-9pm
Stress relieving herbs and self and community care for these trying times. Avoid burnout, handle stress and learn how simple ways to take care whether you’re a mom or activist, student or otherwise. 

“A Crushing Love” Film Screening & Conversation
Sunday, May 6th, 5pm
A film about activist mothers and their journeys followed by a conversation with director Sylvia Morales and local activist mothers.
