March 2023: biennial Printmaking Summit
The Printmaking Summit is a Biennial convening of artists and scholars who come together to skill-share, discuss new technologies and trends in print, and create community through the graphic arts.
The event sees an attendance of 100 people in-person and engages more than 25,000 people online, across our digital platforms.

june 2022: Annual Print Fair, exhibition, and Peoples Printmaking Week
Self Help Graphics & Art’s Annual Print Fair, Exhibition and Peoples Printmaking Week is the only printmaking fair in Los Angeles showcasing thousands of prints and a series of printmaking demonstrations.
Our 2022 Annual Print Fair will be held in-person, with artist demonstrations and opportunities to connect with the printmaking community through networking sessions, artist talks and more.
Family Workshops - Year Round
Each month Self Help Graphics & Art hosts one family workshop, free, and open to the public. The workshops are artist-led and feature fun art-making activities for youth and families. These workshops are the perfect way to spend quality time with friends, family members, and colleagues. All ages are welcome.
We welcome the sponsorship of one individual workshop or the whole series. Your support will connect you with a wide audience from all of Los Angeles and Los Angeles County and beyond.
october-november: DÍa de los Muertos season
Self Help Graphics & Art’s Dia de los Muertos Celebration provides Angelenos with a season of events, art-making activities, a ceremonial procession, an exhibition and more.
Our celebration will be a hybrid of in-person and virtual programming. Sponsorship opportunities include individual Community Art Workshops held each weekend in October, Noche de Ofrenda, the exhibition, or supporting the whole season.
We welcome cash and in-kind contributions.
exhibitions - year round
Each year Self Help Graphics & Art holds 6 - 8 themed exhibitions featuring artists from across the nation. Exhibitions are installed in the gallery, digitized and shared with a global audience through our website and social media channels. Select exhibitions have traveled nation-wide and have been exhibited at UC Santa Cruz, Blanton Museum of Art in Austin, Texas and with partner institutions.

Holiday Marketplace - December 2021
The Eastside’s favorite holiday event features work made by local artists, artisanal products and one-of-a-kind gifts. In-person events feature 30 vendors and see an attendance of up to 1,000 people throughout the day. 2022’s Holiday Marketplace will be a hybrid event with in-person and virtual programs, expanding our outreach.
The Holiday Marketplace also includes free art-making workshops and demonstrations that have included how to make holiday cards, woodcut prints, and how to make chili.
We welcome in-kind and cash contributions.
Paper Fashion Gala - 2023
Self Help Graphics & Art ‘s Paper Fashion Gala and runway show highlights our community’s creative spirit and SHG’s contributions to the arts on the Eastside through wearable paper fashion designs. The Paper Fashion ensembles are commissioned by Self Help Graphics from local artists. Artists invited are representative of SHG’s history, including legacy, mid-career and burgeoning artists. May 2019’s Paper Fashion Gala brought to life wearable paper fashions inspired by serigraph prints published by our network of artists through the Professional Printmaking Program.
The Paper Fashion Gala is a ticketed event that includes a runway show, musical guests, a printed program, a themed exhibition, and a silent auction. Guests are served light bites and cocktails.
